TVHC’s Street Health Outreach (SHO) team recently attended the National Health Care for the Homeless Conference & Policy Symposium, the largest national gathering of professionals working at the intersection of health care and homelessness. The conference brought together thousands of practitioners, advocates, and individuals with lived experience to share best practices and advance efforts to end homelessness.

The SHO team was selected to present their work through one of only eight poster presentations featured at the event. During the conference, the team had the opportunity to connect with peers from across the country, share insights from their work, and learn from others addressing similar challenges in their communities. 

Reflecting on the experience, Street Health Outreach RN Care Manager Meg Fuller shared, “It was so great getting to hear from people from all over the country who are doing similar work. People were really interested in our phone project results, and I hope they’ll be inspired to bring that information back to their own communities.”

“The conference was an amazing experience!” shared Housing Navigator Eunice Kim. “Everyone was so collaborative and being around such passionate people who are spearheading the field of healthcare for the homeless was inspiring. I am glad that our project sparked conversations from healthcare and service providers all around the country.”

Participation in this conference not only allowed TVHC to contribute to a national conversation on homeless health care but also brought back valuable insights that will continue to strengthen our work locally. A huge thank you to the Street Health Outreach team for representing TVHC and sharing their expertise on a national stage!
