CQOW 2026 Retreat: Reflecting on Progress and Aligning What’s Next

At the end of April, the 2026 Clinical Quality & Operations Workgroup (CQOW) Annual Retreat brought together teams from across TVHC for a day of reflection, alignment, and forward planning. The retreat focused on building a shared understanding of progress across initiatives, aligning on project direction and priorities, and highlighting the progress made across CQOW through collaboration and teamwork.

Across all initiatives, projects have advanced through improved quality metricssuccessful pilots, and the development of new workflows. Many initiatives are now moving beyond early implementation and shifting toward sustainability and scale, with a focus on standardizing workflows, addressing operational challenges, and preparing for broader expansion.

Each CQOW initiative shared key updates and direction moving forward. The Under Pressure initiative has successfully met its goals in improving blood pressure control and is now transitioning into a sustainability phase. Cervical Circle continues to expand access to cervical cancer screening, building on the success of its Self Pap initiative while refining workflows and increasing patient education. The Start Up initiative has improved screening completion rates and established core workflows, with continued refinements focused on patient engagement and data accuracy.

Additional projects are focused on strengthening access and sustainabilityYou Betta Check YouthSelf has improved well‑child visit access through pilot efforts and is now working toward a more scalable care model. Miles of Smiles has launched mobile dental services for youth and is preparing for expanded outreach and additional school sites. A new initiative, Medicare Madness, was introduced to support Annual Wellness Visits, with initial work focusing on defining workflows, training needs, and reporting structures to support implementation.

Overall, the retreat demonstrated both the progress CQOW has made and the clarity of direction moving forward. Thank you again to everyone who participated and continues to contribute to this important work to drive meaningful improvements in care for our patients and communities.
