Earlier this month, TVHC had the opportunity to be represented at the American Psychological Association Conference (APA2025), one of the largest gatherings of behavioral health professionals in the country.

Dr. Jessica Apfel, TVHC’s Director of Integrated Behavioral Health, co-presented with Jennifer DeGroat-Penney of Axis Community Health on the topic “What are you missing? How integrated care models improve depression outcomes.” 

Their presentation highlighted how embedding behavioral health into primary care can improve access, strengthen coordination, and ultimately lead to better health outcomes for patients experiencing depression.

Reflecting on the experience, Dr. Apfel shared that “It was great to be able to present on a topic we are both passionate about and display some of the great work being done at our clinics.”
