TVHC CEO Joins Telemundo to Help Community Navigate Coverage Concerns

As questions and concerns continue to grow around recent changes to federal health insurance coverage, TVHC President and CEO Andrea Schwab-Galindo recently joined Telemundo 48 Área de la Bahía to help community members better understand how these changes may impact them and why staying connected to healthcare services remains important.

In the interview, Andrea shared that TVHC has seen an increase in calls from patients seeking guidance, and that some individuals have even considered canceling appointments or benefits due to uncertainty about the policy changes. The report emphasized a message shared by healthcare and community leaders across the Bay Area: do not make decisions about your healthcare coverage or public benefits based on fear or rumors alone.

Andrea encouraged community members to seek trusted information and consult qualified organizations about their specific situation before taking action. She also stressed the importance of maintaining health coverage and continuing to access healthcare services when needed. As she shared with Telemundo, “Above all, don’t let fear prevent you from getting medical care and don’t let health insurance expire or be canceled for lack of renewal; it will be much worse.”

At TVHC, we remain committed to helping patients navigate questions related to healthcare coverage, eligibility, and enrollment. Our Eligibility and Enrollment team can help connect individuals and families to services such as Medi-Cal, Covered California, and other programs that support access to care. We know that policy changes can be confusing, and we want our community to know that support is available.

Community members can help by sharing accurate information with family and friends, encouraging loved ones to renew their health coverage when eligible, and connecting individuals with trusted organizations when they have questions about immigration, healthcare, or public benefits. Access to timely information can help prevent unnecessary disruptions to care and ensure families continue receiving the services they need.

We are grateful to Telemundo for helping elevate this important conversation and for providing a platform to share reliable information with the communities we serve. You can view the full story on Telemundo 48 Área de la Bahía.
