October 2025 CEO Community Update
As we close October and enter the final months of 2025, I want to extend my appreciation to all who continue to stand with Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center (TVHC) and the patients we serve.Â
This season brings both accomplishments and challenges. The ongoing federal government shutdown and SNAP benefit freeze have created deep uncertainty for many families in our community, including those who rely on essential food and social support programs.Â
At TVHC, we remain committed to being a trusted resource during this time—connecting patients with local support, providing care regardless of income or status, and advocating for equity and access. If you are able, we invite you to consider supporting our efforts through a donation to help sustain essential health and nutrition programs for those most in need.Â
Even in difficult times, there is so much to celebrate. This month, TVHC earned national recognition from the American Heart Association and the American Medical Association, receiving the Target: BP Silver Achievement Award for our commitment to improving blood pressure control and advancing cardiovascular health for our patients.
This achievement reflects the dedication and teamwork of our providers and staff who prioritize prevention and holistic care every day.Â
We also celebrated the success of our Rising Leaders Cohort, a new professional development initiative that empowers TVHC staff to strengthen their leadership skills and grow within our organization. Investing in our people ensures that the compassionate, high-quality care our community depends on continues for generations to come.Â
To cap off the month, our team came together for some lighthearted fun—celebrating the season with festive costumes, delicious potlucks, and laughter across sites. These moments of connection remind us of the importance of community, not only with our patients, but among our staff who make our mission possible.Â
Additionally, we are proud to share our newly released 2024–2025 Impact Report, which highlights the incredible work and outcomes our teams have achieved across all programs this past year.
From expanding behavioral health and dental care access to strengthening outreach and preventive services, this report showcases how TVHC continues to make a measurable difference in the lives of those we serve.Â
Finally, I had the privilege of closing my term as Board Chair of the California Primary Care Association (CPCA) at their annual conference this month. In my remarks, I reflected on the progress community health centers have made together in advancing health equity, the challenges we continue to face in funding and policy, and the hope that drives our shared work.
It was an honor to serve alongside so many passionate leaders and to continue representing TVHC’s voice on a statewide level. To view the speech, click here.
Thank you for being part of our mission and for your continued trust and partnership. If you’re interested in connecting, I’d love to hear from you — email me or find us on LinkedIn. You can also check out our past Community Newsletters.  Â
Warm regards,
Andrea Schwab-Galindo
