TVHC’s Mobile Dental Unit has Arrived in Ashland!
After months of preparation, TVHC’s Mobile Dental Unit has officially arrived at the San Leandro-Ashland clinic!
On Monday, February 17th, the van reached its new home, and by the very next day, our dedicated Dental team got to work preparing the unit for patient care.
With a swift turnaround, the team prioritized providing care to pediatric patients—ensuring children in the community have access to essential dental services without delays.
Equipped with two operatories, a patient waiting/check-in area, a sterilization area, and space for inventory storage, the Mobile Dental Unit is a fully functioning clinic on wheels. It is also outfitted with Nomad X-ray units, allowing for on-site imaging to diagnose and treat more complex dental conditions, as well as a wheelchair lift to accommodate all patients in need of care.
Currently, the van is parked at TVHC’s San Leandro-Ashland site, supporting dental patients while the clinic undergoes renovations due to recent flood damage. This new resource ensures continuity of care and keeps vital dental services accessible to the community during this time.
“With this new resource, we hope to expand access to dental services and improve oral health for our community,” says Dr. Sridevi Ponnala, TVHC Chief Integration Officer and dentist. She also expressed her gratitude to the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation for its generous support in funding the Mobile Dental Unit.
This milestone would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of the following TVHC staff members:
Thank you all for your efforts in making this project a success! With the Mobile Dental Unit now in service at Ashland, TVHC is proud to continue its mission of improving oral health access for all—one stop at a time.
Stay tuned for more updates as the van continues to make a difference in the community!
