TVHC WIC Celebrates World Breastfeeding Week with Educational Breastfeeding Social Events
To recognize World Breastfeeding Week from August 1st through the 7th, TVHC’s WIC team recently held breastfeeding social events to spread awareness about the benefits of breastfeeding.
Participants were able to join our WIC team at St. Rose Hospital in Hayward for an educational presentation on breastfeeding, complete with in-depth discussions, chances to win produce vouchers, and opportunities to ask questions to experienced nutritionists and nutrition assistants.
“Our WIC team always looks forward to World Breastfeeding Week and National Breastfeeding Month every August as fun events,” says WIC Project Director Alda Menhennet. “We love supporting families every step of the way in their breastfeeding journey, which starts at pregnancy.”
TVHC’s WIC team celebrates breastfeeding as the best way to infant feeding and promoted the many health benefits of breastfeeding for both mothers and babies. With their extensive training, the WIC team answered various questions from attendees to soothe concerns and give tips on the best ways to use breastfeeding with their children.
“We are dedicated to spreading awareness and fostering a culture that embraces and uplifts breastfeeding as a vital part of nurturing healthy families,” says Supervising Registered Dietitian Jennifer Torres. “Join us in our commitment to making every community a place where breastfeeding is celebrated and supported!”
Thank you to our amazing WIC team for their work spreading awareness about breastfeeding, maternal health, and infant nutrition!
