Thank You to Delta Dental Community Care Foundation for Funding Our First Mobile Dental Van
We are happy to announce that TVHC received a grant of $600,000 from Delta Dental Community Care Foundation to purchase a mobile dental van through Delta’s Access to Care grants program. This will be TVHC’s first dental van!
The dental van will feature two dental exam chairs, a reception area, and a handicap lift. Services provided at the mobile dental van will encompass preventive and restorative care, offering essential services like oral examinations, X-rays, cleanings, fluoride applications, fillings, sealants, crowns, root canal therapy, extractions, and oral health education for disease prevention.
“In our school sites, we often encounter students who have recently immigrated to the country and have not had the chance to receive dental care,” said Youth Health Services Manager Alfonso Alvarado. “By offering dental services to students where they are at, we can increase access to care and ensure they receive proper education on maintaining their overall health.”
The dental van will allow TVHC to expand access to dental services at our school-based health centers, as well as new community locations, including new schools, street health programs, shelters, and more.
By reaching underserved communities and populations, mobile dental vans help reduce disparities in oral health. They ensure that everyone, regardless of their location or socioeconomic status, has the opportunity to access quality dental care.
“The new dental van will enable us to expand our reach and provide essential oral healthcare to our community,” said Chief Integrations Officer Dr. Sridevi Ponnala. “TVHC is committed to improving oral health access for all, and we look forward to making a positive impact on many lives with this new addition to our dental services.”
Thank you, Delta Dental Community Care Foundation, for this incredible opportunity to increase access to care!
