November 2023 CEO Update
This November was a month of giving thanks and appreciation at TVHC, as we held our annual Tiburcio Gives Thanks Week. This annual tradition is a time when we all come together to celebrate our wins and show gratitude to our fellow team members.
This year, the Executive Team and I hosted lunches at our three main clinics where staff from all sites gathered to share a meal, participate in Amazon gift card raffles, and catch up with team members from different locations.
We also held our 2023 Promotoras Academy Graduation, where 13 new Promotoras were recognized for completing the 7-week course.
Congratulations to the graduates who are new community leaders, all of whom are currently delivering health education, performing outreach for Medi-Cal expansion, and being health advocates for their neighbors and families.
I want to thank our partners and community leaders for coming to honor the graduates, including Hayward Promise Neighborhoods’ Executive Director Edgar Chavez, Hayward Mayor Mark Salinas, Cal State East Bay Dean and Professor Dr. Carolyn Nelson, Lloyd Nadal and Evelyn Navarro of Kaiser Permanente, and Gaby Christy from Supervisor Elisa Marquez’s office.
Community outreach and advocacy work requires collaboration to impact the lives of our patients and community members. I’m grateful for our partnerships and the support we continue to receive from all of you.
This month, we also held our in-person Management Team meeting, a monthly manager and director meeting. This month we shared a special holiday meal and announced the winners of the 2023 Clarity Plan Projects! Throughout the year, our management team has been working on projects aligning with TVHC’s 2023 – 2024 Clarity Plan goal of “Increasing Our Communities’ Access to Care.”
The winning projects were decided by votes submitted by fellow management team members.
As we prepare to enter the last month of 2023, I want to express my appreciation to all our staff who continue to drive our mission forward, serve our patients, and make TVHC a great place to work and receive care.
I hope you enjoy reading this month’s community newsletter.
Warmly,
Andrea
