January 2024 CEO Update
During the first few weeks of 2024, our leaders and staff have continued to come together to reconnect and refocus on our Clarity Plan’s goal to increase our communities’ access to care.
With the most recent Medi-Cal expansion, TVHC is playing a pivotal role in ensuring not only coverage, but access to our patients and community.
In January, I attended board and strategy meetings with the California Primary Care Association (CPCA), the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC), and the Alameda Alliance for Health (the Alliance).
Fellow board members and leaders from California and nationwide came together to strategize on the role that each organization needs to play in ensuring health equity and access. This includes collectively advocating for increased funding, the importance of sustainable and value-based payment models, investing in care transformation, and workforce engagement and development.
During the NACHC Winter Strategy Meeting, we brainstormed bold ideas as to how community health centers can be Employers, Providers, and Partners of Choice (EPPOC).
At the CPCA and Alliance Board retreats, we discussed Medi-Cal transformation, opportunities to continue ensuring health equity and sustainability, and understanding patient needs and demographics so that we can continue to serve and shape the future of healthcare in California.
I am grateful to be part of such a dedicated and knowledgeable group of leaders. I am excited about what’s to come from our collective planning efforts and the positive impact it will have on our focus of increasing access to care.
Looking ahead to the rest of 2024, we look forward to collaborating and sharing the progress of our set goals, so that we can continue to work together towards our shared vision.
I hope you enjoy this month’s community newsletter. As always, thank you for your support and partnership as we work together to increase access to care.
Warmly,
Andrea
