Increasing Food Security: CalFresh Awareness Month at Mission Clinic
On May 28th, TVHC’s Eligibility department hosted a successful CalFresh Awareness Month event at our Mission Clinic to help connect our patients with vital food assistance resources.
Thanks to the dedicated work and outreach of our Eligibility team, we enrolled nine new patients into the CalFresh program that morning. Eight of those patients attended the event in person, and our team also booked approximately 25 additional appointments for CalFresh assistance in the weeks ahead.
The event included educational materials and flyers to help raise awareness about available food support programs and how to apply. Staff were on hand to answer questions and guide attendees through the application process, making it easier for patients to access the support they need.
As Patient Access Manager Geraldine Rosiles shared, “Most importantly, we remain committed to being a trusted resource in our community—providing support and services that make a lasting impact in the lives of those we serve.”
This event served as one of many ways TVHC continues to break down barriers to care and support the overall well-being of our patients. We look forward to continuing this work and ensuring our communities stay informed, supported, and connected to critical resources.
