Growing Community: TVHC’s Family Support Services Hosts Annual Harvest Festival
On October 18th, TVHC’s Family Support Services (FSS) team hosted their Annual Harvest Festival at Kennedy Park, bringing together 23 families enrolled in the FSS program for a joyful celebration of the season.
The festival was filled with lively activities, costumes, and community spirit as children dressed up for the event, and FSS staff joined in the fun with festive costumes of their own!
Throughout the day, families enjoyed engaging activities, including a lively trick-or-treat parade with plenty of goodies. Candy was in the mix, but oral health came first, as each participant received a toothbrush to promote healthy practices. Our Promotoras joined the festivities, providing pizza and nutritious snacks to round out the afternoon with a delicious, balanced lunch.
“Harvest season is the perfect time of the year to gather and learn the many ways families celebrate Harvest, family traditions, and build community,” said Nelly Flores Velasco, FSS Lead Case Manager. “Seeds of gratitude will produce a harvest of support at FSS!”
As families shared their traditions and enjoyed the fall festivities, one FSS client shared that she was very grateful for the opportunity to attend the event as she enjoyed the laughter, community building opportunities and celebrating the harvest season.
Events like this continue to foster a vibrant community of support, gratitude, and celebration at TVHC, bringing families together for a harvest season full of shared joy.
