Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Ellen Piernot, MD, MBA, CPE,

Dr. Ellen Piernot is the Chief Medical Officer of Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center. Dr. Piernot joined TVHC in September of 2022 and is Board Certified in both Family Medicine and Clinical Informatics.

Dr. Piernot has more than 15 years of leadership experience in small, medium, and large Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) across California, Arizona, and New Mexico. Throughout her career, she has had responsibility for organizational clinical productivity, managed care contract performance, oversight for all organizational quality initiatives and outcomes, peer review, and risk reduction education.

Additionally, she has managed varying departments, including Quality Improvement, Nursing, Behavioral Health, Dental, Medical, Clinical Outreach and Education, Provider Recruitment and Credentialing, Operations, Centralized Call Center, Referrals and Medical Records.

Dr. Piernot completed Medical School at the Medical College of Wisconsin and her residency in Family Medicine at Waukesha Family Medicine Residency in Wisconsin. Dr. Piernot earned her MBA from the University of New Mexico-Albuquerque.

She was also a National Health Scholarship Corp scholar and completed her service in New Mexico.

Dr. Piernot is a transparent leader who sees the big picture while anticipating the next steps; she uses innovation so that every person can thrive, not just survive. While focused on results, she also knows how important it is to remember the people who help us get those results! In her free time, Dr. Piernot enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling abroad, and reading.
