September 2025 CEO Community Update
As we transition from September into October, I’m pleased to share a few highlights from the past month and a timely reminder for the season ahead.
We wrapped our Fiesta All Summer Long, our summer-long staff appreciation and recognition celebrations, with potluck competitions focusing on creating delicious, healthy meals — a perfect opportunity for our staff to show their creative sides while celebrating the teamwork and care that power our clinics.
These moments of appreciation, community and connection remind us of the importance of our mission and of investing in our team members so that they can continue to nourish and support one another. In doing so, we ensure the TVHC team remains energized and ready to share their compassion with every individual that walks through our doors.
I am also proud to share that TVHC’s Dr. Jessica Apfel and Mónica Zúñiga recently presented on our integrated care model at an international summit.
Their presentation showcased how TVHC’s behavioral health and preventive programs work together to support families across Alameda County, which is a direct reflection of the expertise and collaboration our staff bring to their work every day.
I also want to offer a reminder that, as flu season begins, now is the time to get a flu shot. Immunizations against the flu reduce the risk of severe illness and can help protect vulnerable community members.
Whether you plan to get vaccinated with TVHC or another health care provider, I encourage you to take this step towards keeping you and your family happy and healthy during this season.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and commitment to accessible, high-quality care for everyone in our community.
If you’re interested in connecting, I’d love to hear from you – email me or find us on LinkedIn. You can also check out our past Community Newsletters.
Warm regards,
Andrea Schwab-Galindo
TVHC Chief Executive Officer
