March 2025 CEO Community Update
As we welcome spring, I want to take a moment to reflect on the milestones we’ve achieved this past month and the work ahead to continue strengthening healthcare access for our community.
Earlier this month, we celebrated the completion of Phase I of the Stack Youth & Family Center in Hayward, a long-awaited community hub that will expand access to critical resources.
TVHC is proud to be part of this collaborative effort alongside our partners, and we look forward to the next phase, which will include expanding our Silva Clinic to offer pediatric, dental and behavioral health services in a centrally located space. Investing in accessible healthcare facilities is an investment in the long-term well-being of our community, and we are excited for what’s to come.
March also brought a proud moment for TVHC leadership as three of our team members—Christina Antos, Guadalupe Calderon, and Jonathan Rivera—graduated from the CPCA Health Management+ Cohort.
This intensive four-month leadership program provided them with critical skills in strategic decision-making, care management, and population health. At TVHC, we believe in investing in our team members. Through active investments in the growth of our leaders, we believe we can achieve stronger services for our patients, while living out our values of being learn-it-all’s and high-performers. Congratulations to our graduates!
Additionally, on Sunday, March 23rd, we marked 15 years since the Affordable Care Act (ACA) became law, a milestone that continues to impact the health of our communities. The ACA allowed us to expand our capacity to serve patients, provided more funding, expanded coverage and improved our care quality and health outcomes. However, this progress is at risk due to the proposed Medicaid cuts and the expiration of the premium tax credits. We ask that you continue to engage with us in advocacy activities so that we can protect these gains and ensure that we can continue to move forward.
Lastly, this month we recognized the incredible contributions of our staff during holidays such as National Dental Assistants Week, World Optometry Day, and many more. Their dedication is at the heart of what we do, and I am immensely grateful for their service.
As always, thank you for your continued support and partnership in ensuring quality healthcare for all.
Warm regards,
Andrea Schwab-Galindo
TVHC Chief Executive Officer
