February 2025 CEO Community Update
This month has been filled with milestones that reflect our commitment to expanding healthcare access and strengthening our impact in the community.Â
I am especially excited to welcome our new Mobile Dental Unit! After months of planning and preparation, this unit is now ready to serve patients, providing essential dental care where it’s needed most. Â
With two operatories, a waiting area, a sterilization station, and X-ray capabilities, the Mobile Dental Unit will help bridge gaps in oral health care while our Ashland dental clinic undergoes renovations. A special thank you to the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation for making this possible and to our dedicated TVHC staff who worked tirelessly to bring this project to life.
This month also brought a meaningful opportunity to return to UC Berkeley, where I had the privilege of speaking with students about the vital role of community health centers, governance, and the real-world impact of federal policies like Medicaid on public health. Â
Engaging with the next generation of healthcare leaders is always inspiring, and I look forward to seeing the passion and innovation they bring to the field.Â
Additionally, I had the opportunity to attend the 2025 ITUP (Insure the Uninsured Project) Conference, where leaders from across California came together to discuss the future of healthcare. This year’s conference highlighted both the incredible progress our state has made and the ongoing challenges we must continue to address. Â
From improving healthcare access for all Californians to leveraging technology and expanding behavioral health resources, these conversations are shaping the next steps in strengthening our healthcare system. The insights and strategies shared at ITUP will help guide our efforts as we work to ensure high-quality, comprehensive care for the communities we serve.Â
