The TVHC Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Scholar program is a two-year* longitudinal, interdisciplinary curriculum divided into three components: community-oriented education, clinical training, and community-based hands-on activities that supplement students’ existing health training programs.
 
Program Eligibility:

• Interested in Primary Care and Community Health
• Motivated to address health needs in vulnerable, disadvantaged communities
• Enrolled in a health professions program with clinical training requirements.

By joining the program, participants will gain clinical exposure, impactful mentorship, and receive a certificate in Community Health.

Eligible Major Programs Include:

• Nursing (LVN/RN)
• Medical Assistant
• Dental Assistant
• Health Educator
