Ruben Chavez joined the executive leadership team at Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center in January 2021.
In his role as the Vice President of Practice Management and Compliance, Ruben is responsible to ensure the organization is compliant with internal policies and procedures and external laws and regulations.
Ruben is also responsible for Business Development ensuring the organization pursues relevant and appropriate opportunities for growth.
Over the past 20 years, Ruben has worked with three other Federally Qualified Health Centers in the Central Valley of California serving in Operational and Administrative roles. Most recently, Ruben served with a Tribal Health Care organization in rural California as its Compliance Officer.
Originally from Visalia, California Ruben graduated from University of California, Davis and earned his Law degree from University of Maryland, School of Law.
Ruben retired from the United States Marine Corps Reserves in 2009 having spent 9 years on active duty and 11 years in the Reserves.
Ruben and his wife Mari have two adult children and currently reside in Merced.
