José Angel Rodríguez is the Chief People Officer of Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center. As CPO, José oversees Human Resources, Workforce & Organizational Strategies, Marketing, Communications, Strategic Partnerships, External Affairs, and Facilities.
José has over 25 years of professional experience in various industries, including staffing services, technology, retail, public relations, and non-profits. Although he held recruiting, finance, and administration jobs, he spent most of these years as a Human Resources Business Partner at Hewlett-Packard, The Gap, Logitech, and Burson-Marsteller.
Before joining TVHC, José was the Chief Operations Officer of Mission Neighborhood Centers, Inc. (MNC) in San Francisco. In his role, he oversaw Human Resources, Facilities, IT, Office Services, and Strategy. Before MNC, José was the Director of Human Resources at LifeLong Medical Care, an FQHC community health center serving Contra Costa and Alameda counties in the East Bay.
José currently serves on the San Francisco Community Music Center Board of Directors, where he is part of the Fund Development Committee. He is also a board member of 3rd Street Youth Center & Clinic, where he is part of their Governance and Nomination Committee. José is a Board Advisor of Mission Neighborhood Health Center, an FQHC based in the Mission District in San Francisco.
José has a Master’s Degree in Labor Relations from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, with a major in Marketing, from the University of Puerto Rico. In 2020 he completed a Professional Coaching for Life and Work certificate program at UC Davis and incorporated his coaching practice into his professional portfolio.
José is originally from Puerto Rico and made San Francisco his home in 2010. He lives with his husband, and they enjoy trips to the wine country, traveling abroad and returning home to Puerto Rico once a year.
