CPCA CEO Francisco Silva and Team Visit TVHC
Earlier this month, TVHC hosted CPCA CEO Francisco Silva and his team for a tour of our Ashland/SL clinic, an update of our recent Community Outreach and Advocacy efforts, and an introduction to our Care Neighborhood and H.E.A.R.T. Behavioral Health programs.
TVHC also used this time to thank CPCA for its advocacy efforts leading the California Legislature to pass three bills that will create new Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant Post-Graduate training programs, and expand telehealth services and the Behavioral Health workforce.
This new legislation will help support our work with the Hayward Evaluation and Response Team (HEART) program, where a TVHC mental health clinician will join a Hayward Fire Department paramedic in responding to less acute 911 calls using a Mobile Integrated Health Unit (MIHU). The new HEART program was made possible by the City of Hayward, whose city council unanimously approved its funding earlier this year.
We also were able to showcase how with legislative support, our Community Outreach and Advocacy efforts, and our innovative partnerships and programs, TVHC is able to have a direct impact in our community to increase access to care and address mental health needs.
A special thank you to California Primary Care Association for all your support and for visiting TVHC this month to learn more about our programs and service and our efforts to achieve universal access for those in our community who need it most.
