March 2022 Update from TVHC CEO Andrea Schwab-Galindo

Hello and Happy Spring!

March brings many wonderful events, including the first day of spring, Cesar Chavez Day, and Women’s History Month.

Did you know that women hold 76% of all health care jobs? At TVHC, that number is even higher, with women making up 84% of our staff.

For this Women’s History Month, I want to honor the women in health care, especially the women of TVHC. They are currently making history as they continue to serve patients during the COVID-19 pandemic while being caregivers at home.

As we close out the first quarter of 2022, we see the ease of masks mandates and COVID-19 cases continue to decrease, at TVHC, we are just getting started on our 2022 mission to increase access to care and health equity.

We have begun the process of the second-floor remodel of our Mission Clinic, which will add 13 exam rooms. We are also advocating at the state and federal levels for increased funding for workforce development and advocating for congress to make the expansion of telehealth visits permanent.

With your continued support, TVHC will continue to increase access to care, and health equity for our patients and community members, guaranteeing health care is a human right.
