February 2022 Update from TVHC CEO Andrea Schwab-Galindo
Hello and Happy February!
Although February is the shortest month of the year, a lot is happening at TVHC. This month, we surpassed the 84,000 mark of COVID vaccinations, opened our new Hesperian Clinic, and launched a fourth food distribution site.
We also had the honor of partnering with Black Women Organized for Political Action for their Black and Vaxxed event at our Ashland clinic. The event helped increase COVID vaccine access and celebrate this year’s Black History Month theme of Health and Wellness.
And in celebration of National Children’s Dental Health Month, we brought dental services and education to two local schools.
All of our February events revolve around one central theme, increasing access to care for everyone in our community.
This brings me to my next announcement. This year, we will be remodeling the second floor of our Mission Clinic, allowing us to add 4 additional exam rooms dedicated to Dental services and 10 additional Medical exam rooms, helping us increase access to care!
As more legislation is passed helping to increase access to health care, the demand for our services is expected to grow substantially compared to previous years. To meet this increased demand, we are doing the work now to ensure we will meet the needs of our patients and community.
